Prof. Asc.Dr. Elton Spahiu graduated in 2006 from AEFS “Vojo Kushi”, today the Sports University of Tirana, in the branch of Physical Education Teacher (Specialty: Match Sports). In the years 2006-2012, he was a part-time lecturer at AEFS “Vojo Kushi” in the Department of Individual Sports for the subject of “Competitive Sports”. In 2013, he joined the Sports University of Tirana, as a full-time academic staff at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Recreation, Department of Physical Activity, Recreation and Tourism. In 2015 and 2020, he was elected a member of the Executive Committee in the Albanian Boxing Federation, and in 2016 a member of the “Passion for boxing” commission at the EUBC (European Boxing Confederation). In the period 2013-2018, he followed the studies of the third cycle of the Doctorate with a focus on physical activity and nutrition. In 2018, he defended his Doctorate with the dissertation topic “Nutrition habits and physical activity in 12-14 year olds”. From 2018 to 2024, he served as the head of the Department of Physical Activity, Recreation and Tourism. In 2020, he was elected a member of the UST Academic Senate with a 4-year term. On 05.02.2024, he won the Academic Title of Associate Professor. In the elections for authorities and governing bodies at the Sports University of Tirana, he ran for head of the main unit in the Faculty of Physical Activity and Recreation and was declared the winner as head of the main unit and member of the Academic Senate at UST with a 4-year term as well as member of the permanent commission of doctorates at FVFR.
